On November 26-29, 2018, a new edition of the "National Congress of the Environment (CONAMA)" was held at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid.
CONAMA has emerged as a space for work and debate on sustainable development. In this sense, it has numerous committees and working groups that make up a group of professionals from different fields, with an important multidisciplinary connotation. That is why they can be found from representatives of the public administrations, through the university, companies, professional colleges, unions, ecological groups, etc.
One of the most current and most current topics in the different communications this year was the circular economy. In this area, a new paper on the circular economy in the construction sector was prepared by Working Group 6 (GT-6). This group has been coordinated by the Spanish Association of Recycling of Waste of Construction and Demolition (RCD Association), Green Building Council Spain (GBCe) and the Conama Foundation and has had the participation of entities, professional colleges, companies , technology centers and universities.
In this document you can find a lot of information about the circular economy in the construction sector, which seeks to supply the entire life cycle of a product in order to optimize the construction products, minimize the Water consumption, planning a good maintenance of the buildings in order to achieve a saving, both economic, energy and resources, among others.
That is why one of the objectives of this Working Group has been:
- Draw the ideal circular cycle of the sector that identifies them and include the main actors and their involvement in the scheme.
- Identify the main barriers and opportunities, in the regulatory, regulatory, management, organization, economic, etc.
- Define the responsibilities and tasks of the agents: what should be the next steps.
- Advance towards the formalization of minimum indicators to track and raise the objectives for the different agents of the construction.
